Ophthalmology - Progressive small city - NV - 1174716-74-JA
Nevada (Scenic, growing, progressive small city):  Excellent and financially lucrative Ophthalmology opportunity to work at this community’s Regional Hospital.

•        $ Excellent financial compensation package and excellent earning potential!

•        Growing, progressive small city all in a scenic setting

LOCATION:  Nevada  (This is a growing and progressive small city. This community will offer you a quality of life, which includes safe neighborhoods, little or no commute, great schools, cultural events, recreational opportunities and an unhurried life style, all in a scenic setting.)

PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY:   Due to a growing need in this community, an Ophthalmologist is greatly needed to work at their Regional Hospital.

There are currently two Ophthalmologists who both periodically travel to this community.  However, neither physician is meeting the patient population’s growing needs.  Based on a GMENAC report, their service area can support 1.8 Ophthalmologists.

A candidate who was fellowship trained (i.e., Cornea and External Disease, Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Uveitis and Ocular Immunology, or has other specialization fellowship training) would have to be willing to do a significant amount of general ophthalmology.  This is because there is not enough of a population base to support doing a great deal of the aforementioned specialization surgeries, etc.

The new Ophthalmologist can expect to average 20 patients per day and average 21 procedures per week.

Their equipment includes:  Wilde microscope, two cataract trays, two phaco trays, AMO phaco machine, and a misc eye instrument tray.

Both PSA & SSA:   Patients are currently being seen from communities as far as three and one-half hours away.

Call is ten days per month.

Their payer mix is 25% Medicare, 9% Medicaid, 12% self-pay and 52% commercial.  There is NO HMO/Managed Care! Commercial contracts are predominately a percent of charges, and have been as high as 95%.

FINANCIAL COMPENSATION:  There is no limit or cap on the income potential!  The practice model is a private practice opportunity with cash collections guarantee from the hospital.  For the right candidate, this could possibly become an employed opportunity with salary and benefits.  Their compensation formula is excellent and is based on the MGMA median.

Their fringe benefits package is extremely generous which includes, but is not limited to:  paid expenses, Major Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision, Life Insurance,  Short and Long Term Disability Insurance, 401K Retirement Plan, Employee Stock Option Purchase Plan with matching, and more!

The salary amount, length of contract, relocation allowance, signing bonus, stipend, and student loan repayment, paid time off, CME time and CME education allowance are all negotiable.  They will all be Individually discussed during the interview.
