At the completion of this conference, residents should understand the rationale used in constructing a surgical plan prior to cataract surgery.  This includes decisions regarding wound architecture and location, viscoelastics choice, and intraocular lens implants.  Various patient specific factors will be addressed in their relationship to surgical planning.
