Dr. Pihlblad will present "Anterior Segment OCT of Extra Ocular Muscles" at Grand Rounds on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 7am in BST S 120.
He currently is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York and the Ross Eye Institute.
Dr. Pihlblad is a native of Western New York and grew up in the Southern Tier. He graduated cum laude from Washington & Jefferson College with a major in biochemistry. He completed medical school at West Virginia University School of Medicine. After his internship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, he completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the Ross Eye Institute where he served as chief resident during his last year. He received his fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus from the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Pihlblad is a board certified ophthalmologist that specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, including pediatric cataracts. He is well trained in the clinical and surgical treatment of pediatric eye diseases. He presented his research at regional and national meetings. Some of his research interests include using advanced imaging techniques in pediatric ophthalmology.
