The Pediatric Ophthalmology Service will have a guest speaker presenting at UPMC Eye Center Grand Rounds on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 7am BST S120, Dr. Veeral Shah will be presenting. The topic of his presentation is: " You Have Got Some Nerve!" which is a Pediatric Neuro-Ophthalmology Case Presentation.
Veeral S. Shah, MD, PhD graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science and Double major in Philosophy and Neuroscience. Dr. Shah received his Medical degree and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his medicine internship at the Lankenau Medical Center. He returned to Pittsburgh to complete his ophthalmology residency at University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Institute. He was awarded University of Pittsburgh Basic Science Research and the AUPO Research Fellowship Award. Dr. Shah completed a Neuro-Ophthalmology Clinical Fellowship at Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, where he was awarded Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute Fellow of the Year Award. He completed a Pediatric Ophthalmology Clinical fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
